Ari M. Schwartz is the Internet Policy Advisor at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, working on the Internet Policy Task Force [1] at the Department of Commerce. Schwartz was previously the vice president and chief operating officer of the Center for Democracy and Technology (CDT) in Washington, D.C., in the United States.[2]
Schwartz is from the Detroit, Michigan area, and holds a bachelor's degree in sociology from Brandeis University.[3]
He was formerly a CDT senior policy analyst[4] and subsequently the center's deputy director.[3] Prior to joining CDT he specialized in information issues for OMB Watch, and was a member of the New England-Israel chamber of commerce in Boston, Massachusetts.[3]
